RoHS is a mandatory standard established by the European Union legislation, its full name is "Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive" (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).
It came into force on 1 July 2006 and is mainly used to regulate lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) in the materials of electrical and electronic products.
From 22 July 2019, four new organic substances o-benzene (DIBP, BBP,DBP,DEHP) were added to the scope of RoHS2.0 control.
